Paranormal Activity 3 is an upcoming 2011 American supernatural horror film and third film of the Paranormal Activity series, which will be set 18 years before the events of both Paranormal Activity and Paranormal Activity 2. It will be released in theaters on October 21, 2011.
According to the trailer, it shows that the film may be a prequel set in 1988, focusing on Katie and Kristi when they were younger and stalked by the demon, which was heavily mentioned in the first and second film. Although shown to be a prequel in the trailer, it is unconfirmed if it will be a parallel sequel like the previous film as well.
