Directed by Akira Kurosawa and starring Sachiko Murase, Wasuke Izumi, Saburo Kadowaki, Chiyoko Yoshihara, Hiroko Kamaya. The story centers on an elderly hibakusha, who lost her husband in the 1945 atomic bombing of Nagasaki. She cares for her four grandchildren over the summer and learns of a long-lost brother, Suzujiro, who wants her to visit him before he dies.
