Embedding Clips in PowerPoint

Step by Step Instructions for PowerPoint 2010 (32-bit version)

  1. Go to MOVIECLIPS.com and find the clip you want to put in PowerPoint. On the clip page, copy the embed code for the clip.

  2. With PowerPoint open choose the slide where you want to add a video. Then select the Insert tab, then click the Video button and select Video from Web Site…

  3. Then paste the embed code obtained from Step 1 into the Insert Video from Web Site box and click Insert when finished.

  4. You can preview the clip by clicking the Play button on the ribbon or by switching to in Slide Show view.

Step by Step Instructions for PowerPoint 2007

  1. Display the Developer tab on PowerPoint Ribbon.

    1. Go to the Office Button and click on the PowerPoint Options button.

    2. In the Popular section, check the Show Developer Tab in the Ribbon box and click OK.

  2. Go to MOVIECLIPS.com and find the clip you want to put in PowerPoint

    1. On the clip page, copy the embed code for the clip

    2. Paste the embed code into a text editor (Word, Notepad, WordPad, TextEdit, Pages, etc.) and copy the "value" portion of the code. Make sure to exclude the quotes.

  3. In PowerPoint go to the Developer tab.

    1. In the Controls section click on More Controls.

    2. In the More Controls window select Shockwave Flash Object.

    3. Click OK.

  4. Draw video box to the size you would like your video to be displayed.

  5. With box selected:

    1. In the Controls section of the Developers tab on the ribbon, click on Properties.

    2. In the properties window, paste the value information in the box next to Movie.

    3. Close Properties window (by clicking the X in the top right corner).

  6. Preview in Slide Show view.

  7. The clip will play from Slide Show view just as it does on MOVIECLIPS.com.

Step by Step Instructions for PowerPoint 2003

  1. Go to MOVIECLIPS.com and find the clip you want to put in PowerPoint

    1. On the clip page, copy the embed code for the clip

  2. In PowerPoint go to View menu, hover over Toolbars, and select Control Toolbox.

    1. In the Control Toolbox toolbar that opens, click on the More Controls button (looks like a wrench and hammer).

    2. In the More Controls window, select Shockwave Flash Object.

    3. Click OK.

  3. Draw video box to the size you would like your video to be displayed.

  4. Right click on the box and select Properties.

  5. In the Properties window, paste the value information in the box next to Movie.

  6. Close Properties window (by clicking the X in the top right corner).

  7. Preview in Slide Show view.

  8. The clip will play from Slide Show view just as it does on MOVIECLIPS.com.
