plot:

Ed (Kel Mitchell) is a comically clueless and unintelligent fast food attendant working at the restaurant of the fast food chain, the Good Burger. Ed seems to always be wearing his uniform, even while showering. After an eventful journey to work one day, Ed discovers that Good Burger has competition when another restaurant, Mondo Burger, is built across the street. The Good Burger manager, Mr. Bailey, is slightly worried about the new restaurant, but encourages his employees to not give up hope. Meanwhile, Dexter Reed (Kenan Thompson) is a more sensible and intelligent teenager, albeit a slacker who believes he can spend the rest of the summer partying. One day, while rollerskating in the street while singing, Ed causes Dexter to swerve out of the way of hitting him, and subsequently gets into a car accident with his teacher, Mr. Wheat. Dexter, not having a driver's license, is in danger of going to jail; however, he convinces Mr. Wheat to pay for the damages. He has to take a job during summer break, something he had been against. First, he is hired by Mondo Burger, but he is fired due to his irresponsibility. Dexter goes into Good Burger and meets Ed. The two befriend each other, and Ed even helps Dexter get a job at Good Burger. Soon after, Mondo Burger rises in popularity, causing Good Burger to almost go out of business. Also, Dexter eventually realizes that Ed was responsible for getting him involved, but when they make a sauce to add to their burgers, Good Burger's popularity rises. Mondo Burger then decides to try and acquire the secret sauce. They first attempt to trick Ed into giving them the sauce, but fails. They then decide to try and seduce him by hiring Roxanne (Carmen Electra), but this also failed due to Ed's clumsiness which hurt her a lot (to the point she was mostly in casts when she decides to quit from Mondo Burger). Dexter also briefly dates a female worker at Good Burger, but she discovers that Dexter had Ed supply him with a large percentage of his share of the sauce. When Dexter was about to call off the percentages, they find a dog. Ed thinks that the Dog is trying to ask for help in regards to five clowns whose car had broken down. Dexter, however, thinks that he is hungry and feeds him burgers from the restaurants. Dexter and Ed discover that Kurt has his employees inject an illegal chemical called Triampathol into the burgers. Kurt confines them in a mental institution. Kurt and his henchmen break in Good Burger to dump Shark Poison into the sauce, but get caught by Otis, who is sent to the asylum. At the asylum, Ed manages to befriend a violent mute and a woman who released Kangaroos from the Zoo. They managed to escape from the facility with the help from their new friend. Once escaping, the trio then hijacks an Ice Cream Truck while escaping. They return to Good Burger and resolve to explain what happened all to them by finding evidence against Mondo Burger. Ed and Dexter then sneak back into the Mondo Burger kitchen. Dexter then devises a plan; he will cause a distraction to the Mondo Burger employees while Ed steals one of the Triampathol containers. The first part of the plan goes accordingly however; Ed inadvertently knocks some containers into the burger vat when trying to steal one. However, he does get the idea to use them to enlarge it. Kurt chases and corners Dexter. However Dexter's plan appears to have failed when Ed meets up with him with the stolen sample, allowing Kurt to immediately retrieve it back. To add to Kurt's amusement, Ed appears to have stolen an empty container thus making their scheme pointless even if Ed had gotten to the authorities. Ed explains to Dexter that it was not empty when he got it, making Dexter realize that he dumped them into the vat. Mondo Burger is destroyed by the oversized burgers and is arrested by the authorities and Dexter and Ed uses a can of Triampathol as evidence, foiling Kur's plan. Ed then explains that he got the idea due to realizing the high chance of being arrested, and Kurt delaying the trial by months by using his resources to hire a team of lawyers even if he managed to get the Triamphathol to the proper authorities. Dexter then tells Ed that he has rescinded on the shares agreement, allowing him to keep all of his shares, and Good Burger celebrates their victory.
